A 19-year-old woman who went missing Saturday while hiking in the Columbia River Gorge was found safe Sunday, the Multnomah County Sheriff's office said.
The hiker was separated from her friends around 11 p.m. near the Angel's Rest trailhead. She did not have overnight gear, and her cell phone died after she made a call to friends, according to the sheriff's office.
County search and rescue teams were called to the area at 8:30 a.m. to help look for her. A male hiker found the woman around 11 a.m. and guided her back to the trailhead. She was uninjured.
Lt. Chad Gaidos, a spokesman for the sheriff's office, said the woman's name is not yet available.
