MULTNOMAH County, Ore. — Multnomah County Search and Rescue crews who were out on a training exercise were able to help a hiker who was hurt in the Columbia Gorge.
At around 12:30 Saturday afternoon, a hiker had called 911 saying they were at the top of Angel's Rest and had an injured leg.
SAR crews happened to be out on a training exercise at the time and got to the hiker within 30 minutes, officials said.
The injury did not appear to be serious. The hiker told crews he planned to drive himself to the hospital once they got to the bottom of the trail.
