GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. — About 30 volunteers searched trails near Timberline Lodge on Wednesday for an injured hiker, last seen Monday, but did not find any clues.
David Yaghmourian, 30, of Phoenix, Arizona, was last seen along the Timberline Trail where it meets the Pacific Crest Trail. He hiked nearly 40 miles with a friend over the weekend, but they split up about one mile from the end. The friend said Yaghmourian wanted to rest a hurt knee, but he never arrived back at Timberline Lodge.
On Wednesday, search and rescue crews retraced their journey, searching a large radius around the area he was last seen. A Black Hawk helicopter flew over ridges, valleys, and tree lines looking for the hiker.
Yaghmourian was last seen wearing a black Columbia jacket with tan pants and a tan hat. He’s about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
